About Us
For more than 40 years, Jim Golke, owner of Jim’s Service and Son LLC, has been installing metal roofs on homes, barns and churches througout Wisconsin. In fact, metal roof installation is all he’s ever known.
Jim’s dad and uncle started working for a roofing company installing standing seam roofs on barns all over Wisconsin. Eventually Jim’s dad and another uncle bought the roofing company; they each split up and started running their own roofing companies right from the same shop side by side. Jim’s dad installed metal roofing his entire life. He would buy rolls of steel in 50′ coils by the semi load. These coils were 26.5″ wide, 29 gauge galvenized steel. They would then be hand formed into double lock concealed fastener panels.
Through the years many things changed. Once Jim purchased a roll former machine he was able to install 26 and 24 gauge double lock standing seam roofs. He says that if he didn’t have that roll former he wouldn’t be doing this anymore.
